भारत की कम्युनिस्ट पार्टी(मार्क्सवादी) की दिल्ली राज्य कमेटी गोविंद बल्लभ पंत अस्पताल के नर्सिंग सुपरिटेंडेंट के द्वारा जारी आदेश की कड़े शब्दों में निंदा करते हुए तुरंत इस आदेश को रद्द करने की मांग दिल्ली सरकार से करती है। यह आदेश न सिर्फ असंवैधानिक है, बल्कि भाषायी वर्चस्ववाद से प्रेरित है। दिल्ली के किसी भी अस्पताल में नर्सिंग स्टाफ मरीजों के साथ हिंदी और अंग्रेजी में ही संवाद करते हैं। लेकिन यह आदेश आपस में भी मलयालम का प्रयोग वर्जित करने का आदेश मानसिक रूप से दिवालिया या भाषायी पूर्वाग्रह से युक्त है। भारत में कई भाषाएं बोली जाती हैं। आपसी संवाद में कार्यस्थलों पर इन भाषाओं का प्रयोग भी होता है। लेकिन जिस तरीके से मलयालम भाषा के प्रयोग पर रोक लगाया गया है, वह किसी भी तरह से सही नहीं कहा जा सकता है।
गोविंद बल्लभ पंत अस्पताल दिल्ली सरकार के अधीन है। इसलिए सीपीआई(एम) की दिल्ली राज्य कमेटी मुख्यमंत्री श्री अरविंद केजरीवाल को पत्र लिखकर उनका ध्यान इस असंवैधानिक आदेश की तरफ दिलाना चाहती है। उम्मीद है कि मुख्यमंत्री इस चिट्ठी का संज्ञान लेकर तुरंत कार्यवाही करेंगे।

This letter is to bring to your notice an unconstitutional and atrocious order from the Nursing Superintendent of the GB Pant Hospital (GIPMER), which is under the Delhi government, barring nurses from communicating with each other in Malyalam. Those disobeying this dictat have been threatened with disciplinary action.
The ostensible excuse for this appalling order is that patients, the majority of whom do not know Malyalam, are inconvenienced by nurses conversing with each other in this language. This is a specious plea as Malyali speaking nurses communicate with non-Malyali patients in Hindi and English and not in Malyalam. So there are no grounds to say that patients are being inconvenienced. Conversing with each other in their mother tongue by Malyali nurses cannot be an excuse to penalize them.
The CPI(M) Delhi State Committee therefore demands that the order issued by the Nursing Superintendent GB Pant Hospital (GIPMER) making conversing in Malyalam by nurses a punishable offence be withdrawn immediately.
